Lillian FortnerPublished Wednesday, March 17, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesLillian Fortner, 92, of Gurdon died Thursday, March 11, 1999. Mrs. Fortner was a member of Beech Street Baptist Church and a retired school teacher with 30 years of service in teaching students in the Gurdon School District and the former Whelen Springs Schools. Survivors include a daughter, Minnie Faye Merrill of Gurdon; a step-daughter, Bertha Hobel of Fort Worth, Texas; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, March 13, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel in Gurdon with interment in Bethlehem Cemetery by Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon.
