Virgil MarksPublished Wednesday, March 17, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesVirgil Marks, 88, of Gurdon died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. Mr. Marks was born August 17, 1910, at Banks to Garland and Mollie Humphries Marks. He was a cattle farmer in the Red Springs community for the past 55 years. He was of the Baptist faith and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Dartis Steed Marks of Gurdon; a son, Jerry Marks of Nashville; a daughter, Peggy Marks Woods of Maple Valley, Wash.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Pete Wrinkle of Gurdon; two brothers, Victor Marks of Hot Springs and Elgy Marks of Gurdon; four grandchildren, Grant Woods of Arkadelphia, Wade Woods and Brook Woods of Seattle, Wash., and James Wrinkle of Gurdon; and one great granddaughter, Alissa Woods of Seattle, Wash.
