Mary Virginia (Gin) Connor of Mt. Pleasant, died December 7, 2006, following an automobile accident in Longview, Texas.

Virginia Wells was born on November 11, 1922, in Prescott, the daughter of Bertie and Abner Wells. She married Thomas Connor, a flight trainee, in Phoenix, Ariz., in 1942. Their son, Scott, a physician, was born in 1947, and predeceased his mother in 1994. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Martin and Clyde Wells, and a sister, Theron Roberts.

She is survived by her husband, Tom, of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter-in-law, Della Connor of Lufkin; two granddaughters, Alanna Connor of San Antonio, Texas, and Elise Connor of Okla.; nephew, Michael Roberts and wife Sandra of Chapel Hill, N.C., with whom she traveled extensively in the later years of her life, most recently to Provence, France, in April, 2006; nephews, Roy D. (Denny) Parker and wife Yvonne, John Parker and wife Janet; nieces, Jean Delafield and Emily Ann Parker; and by sisters-in-law, Helen Parker and Ann Carter.

Gin worked alongside her husband, a pharmacist, in Bullington Drug for many years in Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, an avid reader and traveler as well as a masterful and gracious homemaker.

A grave side service was held on Saturday, December 16, at 11 a.m. at the Omaha Cemetery with Dr. Clint Davis officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cypress Basin Hospice, 207 Morgan St., Mt. Pleasant, Texas 75455. The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude and thanks for the sensitive care provided by the medical team and staff of Good Shephard Hospital in Longview.
