A.F. SmithPublished Wednesday, December 13, 2006 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. A.F. Smith, 77, a resident of Gillham, died Wednesday, December 6, 2006, in the De Queen Medical Center. He was born January 12, 1929 in Oklahoma. He was a retired farmer and rancher, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the First Baptist Church in Gillham. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald and Orbra Harrison; his wife, Lenna Belle Dinky Smith; one son, Keith Smith; two brothers, Eugene Smith and Melvin Smith; and one step-daughter, Kim Vann. He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Young Smith; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Debbie McKinney of De Queen, Donna and David Morris of Gillham, Dana and Robert Gentry and Dianna Meisch, all of De Queen; three step-daughters and their spouses, Karen and Gary Whisenhunt, Kathy and Roger Driver, and Angela and James Meeker, all of Gillham; three brothers, Marvin Smith of De Queen, Kent Harrisonof Hot Springs, and Leo Harrison of Fayetteville; two sisters, Willie Lee Sunderman and Helen Bynum, both of Nashville; his sister-in-law, Dee Ann Smith of De Queen; 11 grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; six step-grandchildren nine step-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 9, 2006, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Homer Frachiseur, Orman Wallis and Robert Gentry officiating.
