Gurdon woman jailed for drugsBy Wendy LedbetterPublished Tuesday, December 5, 2006 in the Gurdon Times A Gurdon woman has been charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver after Prescott police discovered almost 2 grams of the drug in her possession. Vickie Lyn Green-Sims, 44, 511 N. 10th St., was arrested Nov. 24. According to a police report filed by Prescott Police Detective David Thomason, Sims was a passenger in a blue Honda Accord. The driver failed to use turn signals while driving in Prescott, resulting in a traffic stop. Thomason reportedly talked to the driver and Prescott Assistant Police Chief Ann Jordan talked to Sims. The report indicates that the driver consented to a search of the vehicle. Sims emptied her pockets as part of the search for weapons, according to the report. ... these items included a matchbox, cigarettes, knife and lighter. Detective Thomason then opened the matchbox and found several off white rocks in the box. Jordan reportedly found another rock in Sims possession as part of the search during Sims arrest. Sims was taken to Nevada County Jail but was later released on bond. Charges were filed in Nevada County Circuit Court on Nov. 28.
