The storm that swung into Nevada County and the surrounding area didnt greatly impact the overall weather condition wrap-up for November. The lowest recorded temperature was 25 degrees, but it happened almost a week before the Nov. 30 winter weather event, though some reports indicate that the temperature in the early morning hours of Dec. 1 may have been even lower.

According to weather watcher Phillip McAdams, less than a half inch of rain and a very small amount of freezing rain fell on Nov. 30. That coupled with scattered showers over several days during November brought total rainfall reported in Prescott to just more than 2 inches.

Benton indicates that rainfall is still well below normal. According to his report, the November rainfall at Cale was 2.3 inches, about 15 inches below what should have been recorded for the first 11 months of the year.

McAdams indicates that the low temperature of 25 degrees was recorded in Prescott on Nov. 21 and 22. Benton stated the recorded low in that part of the county was also 25 degrees with a high of 80. The recorded high in Prescott was 78 degrees on Nov. 1.

The average high temperature for Prescott was 67 with an average low of 40 degrees, according to McAdams report.
