Three arrested on drug chargesBy Wendy LedbetterPublished Tuesday, December 5, 2006 in the Nevada County Picayune The Prescott Police Department has made three recent drug arrests in the city. Calvin James Flemons, 1001 Section Line Ave., was arrested Nov. 23 after a traffic stop for driving without a license, according to a report filed by PPD officer Kevin Colvey. Colveys report indicates that he saw Flemons driving in the city though Colvey knew that Flemons license had been suspended. Flemons stopped in a driveway near Moncreif and Bemis streets. Colveys report indicates that Flemons put his hands in his pockets. When he was ordered to remove his hands, he reportedly threw an object in each direction. According to Colveys report, he found a cigarette pack and a piece of pipe often used for consuming illegal drugs when he searched the ground where Flemons had thrown the objects. Colvey indicates that he recovered several off white rocks that field tested positive for crack cocaine in the cigarette package. The pipe recovered at the scene was reportedly still warm and contained burned residue. Flemons was charged with possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia for the pipe. According to the report, Flemons was arrested and transported to Nevada County Jail. In an unrelated incident, Terry Lee Williams, 21, 305 Warren St., was arrested Nov. 24 after officers were called to a disturbance at a convenience store on East Main Street. According to the police report filed by K-9 Officer John Pettit, Williams was in possession of a stick and was yelling at passing traffic. Williams was told to calm down, but reportedly refused and was arrested by Pettit and PPD Sgt. Larry Miller for disorderly conduct. During the arrest, officers found a clear bag with a green leafy substance, in Williams pocket, according to the report. Terry advised that the bag was not his and he did not know how it got in his pants, Pettit wrote in the report. Williams was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and disorderly conduct. PPD Detective David Thomason and PPD Assistant Police Chief Ann Jordan arrested a Gurdon woman on Nov. 24 shortly before midnight during a routine traffic stop.
