Elvi Deen MadlockPublished Wednesday, November 29, 2006 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Lucie Elvi Deen Madlock, 82, of Hope, died Monday, November 20, 2006, at her home. She was born on September 7, 1924, in Bodcaw, to Alfred and Flossie Hepler Vines. She was retired from Hope Bus Station; former owner/operator of Deens Gift Shop in Hope; retired from Madlocks Service Station and a homemaker. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her first husband, Grady May; by her second husband, William Billings; by one son, Larry May; and by one sister, Geneva McKamie. Her survivors include two sons, Bill Billings of Hope; one daughter, Janette Bobo of Patmos; one brother, Laverne Vines of Patmos; one sister, Corrine Brockman of Magnolia; special loved one, Ervin Madlock of Hope; nine grandchildren, Norman, Judy, Shannon, Michael David, Monty, Daion, Brandi, Lary, and Donna; sixteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Hope, with Revs. Joe Miller and Jerry T. Crane officiating. Burial was in Patmos Cemetery in Patmos. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Family received friends Tuesday, November 21, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
