Leslie Walker

Mr. Leslie Lee Walker, 79, of Prescott, died Sunday, November 19, 2006, at his home surrounded by his loving wife, children, mother-in-law and pastors.

He was born on March 10, 1927, in Hot Springs, to Claude and Delma Bailey Walker. He was a former Baptist minister, retired owner/operator of Walkers Grocery and former employee of Bruner Ivory Handle Mill of Hope. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Laneburg, and had taught Sunday school for 20 plus years.

His survivors include his wife, Joyce Kirkham Walker of Prescott; one son, Christopher Lee Walker and Denise of Prescott; one daughter, Bobbie Weaver of Tahlequah, Okla.; two brothers, Louis Walker of Hot Springs and Clarence Walker of San Antonio, Texas; two sister, Modene Floyd of Kirville, Texas and Bea Wallace of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren, Heather Weaver and Frankie of McLemore, Okla., James Weaver and Tabitha of Okla., Robert Cason III of Prescott, and Debra Lee Walker of Gurdon; and three great-granddaughters, Brooklynn Alexis Weaver, Callie Weaver, Isabelle Weaver, all of McLemore, Okla.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Friday, November 24, 2006, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott, with Rev. Elmer Grant and Rev. Kenneth Grant officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Family received friends Wednesday, November 22, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. Special thanks to Dr. Gary Peterson, Nurse Mary Crane, Dr. Michael Young and staff, Christus St. Michael Hospital and staff and the nurses on the 6th floor North, and Home Health staff and the CNAs.
