A three-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 278 resulted in the deaths of two men.

According to a report filed by the Arkansas State Police, Gary Franklin, 27, of Pine Bluff, and Michael Christopher, 22, of Magnolia, were pronounced dead at the scene on Nov. 17. The accident occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. Injured was Kathy Willbanks, 48, of Texarkana. Roger Paden of Rosston, 44, was driving the third vehicle. According to the police report, Paden was not injured.

Christopher was reportedly eastbound on Highway 278 in a 1992 Toyota Camry when he passed two vehicles in a no passing zone. The report indicates that Christophers Chevrolet then hit the 2005 Toyota Corolla driven by Franklin head on.

The report, filed by Arkansas State Trooper Jason Teague, indicates that Willbanks was a passenger in Franklins vehicle. She was transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana.
