A Prescott man who was charged with possession of marijuana reportedly admitted that the drug was his, and told the arresting officer that his regret was that he hadnt already smoked the evidence.

Delmar Ray Easter, 25, 518 Bryant St., was arrested on Nov. 1 by Prescott Officer Aaron Easley. According to Easleys report, Easter was a known felon with an outstanding arrest warrant. When Easley spotted Easter in the area of Greenlawn and Moncrief streets, he first verified the warrants through the PPD.

Easleys report indicates that once he was certain the warrant was current, he and PPD Assistant Chief Ann Jordan stopped at a residence on Elm Street to talk to Easter.

Easley indicates in his report that he saw Easter throw a clear plastic bag on the ground, and that he determined the bag to contain a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana.

Easley indicated that he told Easter he was being charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Mr. Easter stated that the marijuana was his and that he wished he would have smoked it before we got there, Easley wrote in his report.

Easter was reportedly taken to Nevada County Jail.
