The Bluff City Helping Hands Extension Homemakers Club met March 11 at the Church of Christ.

There were 10 members present and one visitor. The club has a new member Margie Knight this month. Members are very glad to have her in the club.

The meeting was called to order by Marguerite Tomlin, president.

Roll call was by Laverene Green, secretary, was answered with 'My Favorite Homemade Gift.'

Bonnie Lawler from Sutton was a visitor of the club. She is Hazel Plyler's sister and Marguerite Tomlin's sister-in-law.

Bonnie gave us a lesson on using white balloons to make a magnolia blossom. They were very lovely and easy to make.

Treasurer's report was read by Ruth Sullivan.

Door prize was won by Vernell Loe. It was a lovely and useful bird feeder.

The program was given by Ruth Sullivan and Marguerite Tomlin on 'Gifts from the Heart.'

Service committee for April, May and June are Kay Sellers, Kay Nelson and Ruth Sullivan.

St. Patrick's Day was celebrated with cards and gifts exchanged by all. Laverne Green received a card which even had the Blarney stone inside which she was advised to kiss for good luck.

The Easter bunny also hopped in with good wishes and baskets and candy.

Prayer of thanks was given by Oleta Nelson.

Potluck was enjoyed by all.

Drinks were served by Marguerite Tomlin, Ruth Sullivan and Sandra Walker.

While members were finishing the desserts, Vernell Loe read a story found in an old 1928 cook book on how to preserve a good husband. It was very amusing.
