A series of drug arrests have been released by the Prescott Police Department. One of those involves drugs being distributed at a local

daycare early in October.

Dashawn Michelle Fellows, 26, 1103 Cornelius St., was arrested on Oct. 5 for possession of marijuana after her three-year-old child reportedly took drugs to an area preschool. According to a report by PPD Detective David Thomason, the child had 12 "off white rocks believed to be crack cocaine."

The rocks were individually wrapped and were in a candy sack.

According to Thomason's report, Fellows denied any knowledge of the

cocaine and consented to a search. Officers found marijuana, leading to

her arrest for possession. Thomason indicates that no charges were filed

against Fellows with regard to the cocaine.

In an unrelated case, a Fulton man was arrested after officers from the

Prescott Police Department found marijuana and an assault rifle in the

vehicle he was driving.

According to a PPD report, Jerry Bunch, 136 Hempstead County Road 188, Fulton, was arrested on Oct. 23 by Prescott Police Chief Brian Russell for outstanding warrants. But Russell's report indicates that once Bunch had been stopped, the rifle of a gun was seen in the back seat of the vehicle Bunch was driving.

According to information from Russell's report, Bunch was taken to the Nevada County Jail by PPD Assistant Chief Ann Jordan. A passenger in the vehicle reportedly told Russell that she had marijuana in her purse, put there by Bunch. Bunch also apparently verified the story and was charged with that possession.

According to the report, officers recovered an SKS assault rifle from the vehicle. Russell's report indicated that Bunch was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, but there was no indication of charges for possession of the weapon. Formal charges had not yet been filed in Nevada County Circuit Court as of press time.

Other recent drug arrests include:

Tracy Hicks, 173 Nevada 294, was arrested on Oct. 17 after officers

discovered a pill bottle with the residue of a substance believed to be

crystal methamphetamine.

Dwight Christopher Hopson, 420 East Sixth, was arrested Oct. 18 after

being arrested with marijuana in the car he was driving.

Randy Harper, 102 Arkla Circle, Emmet, was arrested Oct. 6 after officers discovered marijuana in the glove compartment.

Rodger Williams, 422 West Elm, was arrested Oct. 4 after several area

residents reported that a man in a green pickup had asked where he could purchase drugs. K-9 Officer John Pettit and K-9 Duchess walked around Williams' vehicle with Duchess indicating the presence of drugs. An off-while substance and glass pipe were recovered from the vehicle.

Rebecca Lynn Garner, 1529 Highway 195 South, was arrested Oct. 24 for outstanding warrants. During her arrest, officers discovered a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
