Mildred Pearson

Mrs. Mildred Daniel Pearson, 84, died October 9, 2006, in Monroe, La.

Mrs. Pearson was born December 20, 1921, in Laneburg. Having grown up and attended school in Laneburg during the depression years and being married to a U.S. Army Master Sergeant serving in World War II provided Mildred with an appreciation for life and the skills to raise a family in the post-war years. Mildred and her husband resided in Monroe, La. from 1948 until 1973, where she was active in PTA, the First Methodist Church, and Cub Scouts. They lived in Little Rock, from 1973 until her husbands retirement and then back in Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arch E. Pearson, to whom she was married for 59 wonderful years. Mildred will be laid to rest beside her husband in Laneburg Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Buddy and Janet Pearson of Monroe, La., Mike and Candy Pearson of Houston, Texas, and Mark and Kryan Pearson of Starkville, Miss.; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Margaret and Deral Ellis of Laneburg; grandchildren, Reece Pearson, Michael Daniel Pearson, Dr. Matt Pearson, J. Michael Pearson, John Pearson, Amy Fylling, Alexa Pearson, and Meredith Pearson; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2006, at Laneburg Baptist Church in Laneburg, with Rev. Wayne Langston officiating. Interment was at the Laneburg Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.Visitation was from noon until 2 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2006, at Laneburg Baptist Church, Laneburg.

Pallbearers were Dan Ellis, Mike Ellis, Ryan Ellis, Bill Younts, Michael D. Pearson, and Chris Daniel.

Memorials may be made to the Laneburg Cemetery Fund, Laneburg, AR 71844.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all those who have known and loved Mildred and provided comfort to her before joining her husband.
