Ralph TaylorPublished Wednesday, October 4, 2006 in the Nevada County PicayuneRalph W. Taylor, U.S. Army Veteran, 75, of Crest Hill, Ill., died Sept. 22, 2006. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 1080, the Friendship Baptist Church of Plainfield and the Moose Lodge #241. He is a retire employee of Caterpillar Tractor Co. and the Highway Commissioner of Wesley Township in Wilmington, Ill. Ralph enjoyed traveling, hunting and was an avid supporter of the NRA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland W. and Lucy Marie Taylor. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 54 years, JoAnne Adams Taylor; loving sons, Ralph Wayne (Becky) and Kenneth Watson (Rose) Taylor, both of Wilmington, Ill.; proud granddaughters, Krista and Karey Taylor; great grandson, Gavin Taylor; dear brothers, Harvey (Faye) Taylor and Bobby (Sophie) Taylor of Prescott; fond sister, Betty (Jim) Roberson of Prescott; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 10:30 a.m., at the Woodlawn Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson, Joliet. Formerly Westwood Funeral Home. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation was Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Friendship Baptist of Plainfield would be appreciated.
