A Gurdon woman has been arrested by the Prescott Police Department for her alleged part in connection with the theft of $281.

According to a police report on file at the Prescott Police Department, Micki Ann Marks, 37, 202 Tate Street, was arrested on Sept. 9. A report, filed by Prescott Police Officer Larry Miller, indicates that the owner of a Prescott business reported that someone had taken $281 from the business safe. The business owner reportedly told officers that he had captured images of the theft on surveillance tapes.

According to the report, camera images show Marks "unscrewing the screws" on the safe on two separate occasions.

Miller's report states that Marks was confronted with the details of the

crime, and that she asked the business owner to allow her to repay the money rather than face prosecution. The request was apparently denied and Marks was taken into custody at the scene.

A search of Marks' personal possessions at the business also revealed drug-related items, according to Miller's report. He stated that marijuana and some additional drugs in pill form were found in Mark's possession.

Marks was arrested on two counts of breaking and entering and two counts of theft of property for each of the two separate theft occasions. The arrest report also indicates that Marks' arrest included two counts of

possession of a controlled substance.

The breaking or entering and the possession charge are each felonies, while the theft of property is listed

as a misdemeanor.
