PPD reports arrestsBy Wendy LedbetterPublished Wednesday, September 20, 2006 in the Nevada County Picayune A Prescott man has been arrested and charged in the Sept. 4 shooting that sent another Prescott resident to a Little Rock hospital. James Blake, 1309 Pearl St., was taken into custody following an investigation by Prescott Police Department and the Arkansas State Police. According to information from the PPD, an altercation between Blake and another Prescott man erupted at the residence on Pearl Street shortly before 10 p.m. on Sept. 4. The victim was taken to an area hospital before being transferred to Little Rock for surgery, according to PPD Chief Brian Russell. Russell said he was told the victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries and has been released from the hospital. Russell said Blake is expected to face charges of aggravated assault as a result of the investigation. He praised the efforts of both local and state law enforcement officers for quickly bringing the facts of the case to light so that the case could be turned over to the courts. In unrelated police actions over the past week, officers have dealt with several issues, including driving while intoxicated and a breaking or entering at a local business. A Gurdon woman has been arrested by the PPD for her alleged part in connection with the theft of $281. According to a police report on file at the PPD, Micki Ann Marks, 37, 202 Tate Street, Gurdon, was arrested on Sept. 9. A report, filed by Prescott Police Officer Larry Miller, indicates that the owner of a Prescott business reported that someone had taken $281 from the business safe. The business owner reportedly told officers that he had captured images of the theft on surveillance tapes. According to the report, camera images show Marks "unscrewing the screws" on the safe on two separate occasions. Miller's report states that Marks was confronted with the details of the crime, and that she asked the business owner to allow her to repay the money rather than face prosecution. The request was apparently denied and Marks was taken into custody at the scene. A search of Marks' personal possessions at the business also revealed drug-related items, according to Miller's report. He states that marijuana and some additional drugs in pill form were found in Mark's possession. Marks was arrested on two counts of breaking and entering and two counts of theft of property for each of the two separate theft occasions. The arrest report also indicates that Marks' arrest included two counts of possession of a controlled substance. The breaking or entering and the possession charge are each felonies, while the theft of property is listed as a misdemeanor. In other actions, Lee D. Harris, 46, 1358 Third St., was arrested for driving while intoxicated and careless driving. According to a police report filed by PPD Officer Aaron Easley, Harris pulled his vehicle onto Highway 67 directly in front of Easley's patrol car and immediately made a turn without stopping at a stop sign. After Easley made a traffic stop, he reportedly discovered that Harris was unable to comply with directions of a field sobriety test. He was cited and given a court date of Sept. 27. Sebastian Delgado, 44, 709 Bailey St., was arrested on Sept. 10 shortly after 1 a.m. by PPD Officer Larry Miller. According to Miller's report, Medina failed field sobriety tests and was charged with DWI and careless driving. Miller was also the arresting officer on Sept. 9 for another DWI arrest. Latoya Renee Hamilton, 37, 405 North Highway 7 St. North, Hot Springs, was charged with DWI, second offense, no vehicle license and driving with a suspended license. In another incident, David Arnold, 1426 Old Dove Road, Mountain Pine, was arrested on Sept. 13 for possession of a controlled substance - marijuana - with intent to deliver.
