Iris GlassPublished Wednesday, September 6, 2006 in the Nevada County PicayuneIris J. Glass, 65, of Fayetteville, died Monday, August 28, 2006, at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County. She was born May 11, 1941, at Waldo, the daughter of Harry and Henrietta McClain Clark. She was a dietician at Willow Creek Womens Hospital and Butterfield Trail Village and a member of First Baptist Church in Springdale. Iris was very involved with the Miss America Organization and had been involved with scholarship pageants in Arkansas for 40 years. For the past 10 years, she had served as the executive director of the Miss Heart of the Ozarks Scholarship Pageant. Iris graduated from Waldo High School where she excelled in basketball. She received her bachelors degree form Southern State College and her masters degree from Louisiana Tech. She was an avid Razorback fan. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bud Glass; son, Stephen Glass of Farmington; daughter, Kristi Glass of Bentonville; mother, Henrietta Clark of Waldo; three sisters, Patsy Sullivan of Sallisaw, Okla., Molly Viles of Ft. Smith, and Kay Gourley of Farmington; and many nieces and nephews. Services were at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 31, at First Baptist Church in Springdale. Officiating was Rev. Charlie Foster. Burial was in Farmington Cemetery, under the direction of Moores Chapel. Visitation was from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday at Moores Chapel. Pallbearers were Thomas Collins, Jack Gourley, Dusty Gourley, Mike Viles, Ron Sullivan and Zack McDonald. In honor of Iris, memorials can be made to the Iris J.
