Arlis M. Adams

Arlis M. Adams, 88, of Bodcaw died Monday, March 8, 1999, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mr. Adams was born January 2, 1911, in Laneburg to John T. and Mary Blakely Adams. He was a retired operator/pipeliner for Texas Eastern Gas Company. Mr. Adams was a member of Bodcaw #1 Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel L. Adams and Lillard M. Adams, and one grandchild, Gregory Russell.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie Mae Adams of Emmet; two daughters, Mary I. Rankin of Golden, Mo., and Evelyn I. Russell of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, J.T. Adams of Imboden and Tilman Adams of Fort Smith; one sister, Marie White of Magnolia; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Services were Wednesday, March 10 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope with the Rev. Joe David Key and the Rev. Tom Stephens officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Hope. Arrangements were under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bodcaw #1 Baptist Church or a local charity of choice.
