Mildred BittlePublished Wednesday, August 16, 2006 in the Nevada County PicayuneMildred Bittle, 77, of Whelen Springs, Arkansas died Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Arkansas Childrens Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Mattie (Stratton) and Durwood Vanmeter. Mildred was a member of Beirne Baptist Church, retired from Levi Strauss and a caregiver. She was preceded in death by husband, George Bittle, Jr., son Donald Wayne and brother Buddy Vanmeter. Survivors include: Son: Tommy Bittle of Memphis, TN Three Daugthers: Judy (Calvin) Tidwell of Arkadelphia Wanda (Steve) Coon of Gurdon Loretta (Steve) Shepherd of Arkadelphia Sister: Mary Lou Garner of Beirne; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchidren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2006, in Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Henson officiating. Interment will be in Harts Chapel Cemetery near Curtis.
