I know you must get tired of hearing about my electric blanket, but I can truly say I'm really thankful to have it during this unusual weather.

Bonita Whitecotton from Shreveport, La., has spent several days with her mother, Marie McKelvy, who has been a hospital patient.

Nancy Burke was making pop calls in our community on Tuesday and said hello to Neil and me.

Leona and Jim Ballard's son, Pat, has been visiting his sister, Debbie Courville, in New Ibera, La.

Helen Daniels, wife of the late Chester Daniel, escaped serious injury when she fell off her bar stool. Helen, please be careful.

Clark Crellin spent last week on a business trip to Dallas. His son, Garrett, was the proud winner of a third place spelling bee contest in Nevada County.

Willie and Julene Hulan visited their son, Thomas, and his family in Gurdon on Sunday. Thomas is still recovering from foot surgery.

The home of the late Sardis and Thera Greer was by choice destroyed by fire on Sunday. Really sad to see homes with happy memories destroyed. I understand one was also destroyed in Boughton. My dad and mother's home, the late Jesse and LaRue Griffin' was also destroyed by choice, but to us a happy ending. Our grandkids, Charity, Randy and Caleb Lowdermilk, built a beautiful new home in its place.

Gary and Gaywn Golden from Murfreesboro visited her parents, George and Joy Cox, on Saturday.

This thought was taken from an unknown church bulletin on Sunday: A special collection will be taken to defray the expenses of a new carpet. All those wishing to do something on the carpet, please come forward and get a piece of paper.
