The Prescott and Nevada County area ended July with less than normal rainfall. That's the information submitted at the end of the month by local weather watcher Davis Benson.

According to Benson's report, the total rainfall for the year as of July 31 stood at 23.87 inches, "which is about six inches below normal for the first seven months of the year."

Benson reported July rainfall at Cale to be just less than 4 inches.

Closer to Prescott, weather watcher Phillip McAdams reported that total precipitation measured inside the city was also just less than four inches. Of that, McAdams reported that almost three inches fell on July 4 and 5. Another inch fell on July 27 and 28.

Both reported temperatures higher than 100 degrees.

Benson's report indicates a high temperature in Cale of 105 degrees.

McAdams reported a high temperature reading in his area of 102 on July 19.

The lows were in the 60s, with McAdams reporting 61 degrees on July 1 and Benson reporting a low reading of 68. McAdams indicates an average low of 70 degrees for the month with an average high of 93.
