Go-Devils announce football schedule

The Gurdon Go-Devils football teams were scheduled to begin practicing on Monday, July 31, with about a month to prepare before competition starts.

A complete schedule is now available for both senior high school and junior high school teams.

Senior team

The first game of the season for the Senior Go-Devils will be against Jessieville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1, at the Gurdon High School football stadium.

On Friday, Sept. 8, the team will go on the road and face Mineral Springs. The away games will also begin at 7:30 .m.

On Sept. 15, the Go-Devils will play in another away game against Bearden. On Sept. 22, Gurdon stays on the road and faces Center Point.

The Go-Devils come home on Sept. 29 to play Prescott at Go-Devil Stadium. The annual rivalry game will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The next week, Oct. 6, Gurdon will face Fouke in an away game battle.

On, Oct. 13, Gurdon will be at home playing Magnet Cove. On Oct. 20, there will be an away game with Bismark.

The season will wrap up with two home games in a row.

Gurdon will host LaFayette County on Oct. 27 and the last regularly scheduled game of the season will be in Gurdon on Nov. 3 against Horatio.

Junior team

The Junior Go-Devils will begin their season on Thursday, Aug. 31, as they travel to Glen Rose.

Junior High School games will also get under way at 7:30 p.m.

The Junior Go-Devils will have an open date on Thursday, Sept. 7. Then on Thursday, Sept. 14, they travel to Horatio for an away game battle.

The Junior Go-Devils will come home on Sept. 21 to play Center Point. On Sept. 28 the Junior Go-Devils travel to Prescott for an away game battle.

The team will come off the road and face Fouke on Oct. 5.

They travel to Magnet Cove for a game on Oct. 12 before returning home to play Bismark on Oct. 19.

The Gurdon Junior High School football team will play their last regularly scheduled game for the season on Thursday, Oct. 26, in an away game battle with LaFayette County.
