Court records include drug charges

A Prescott man has been charged with drug-related charged after officers stopped the mans vehicle on West Main Street.

According to information from the Prescott Police Department and the Nevada County Circuit Clerks Office, Michael Jason Kenworthy, 36, 612 Oak St., was driving a blue pickup on June 27 when officers saw that something was dragging from the rear of the truck. Prescott Assistant Police Chief Ann Jordan and Prescott Deputy David Thomason initiated a traffic stop to inform the man of the situation, according to Prescott Police Chief Brian Russell.

Russells report indicates that Kenworthy was driving the truck. When the suspect exited the vehicle, a syringe fell from his pocket, the report states.

Officers then searched Kenworthy and found a package of rolling papers in his front pocket. Officers also discovered a clear plastic bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, according to the report.

Kenworthy was taken to the Nevada County Jail, but was later released on bond, according to Russell.

Charges were formally filed in the case on July 7. Kenworthy has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, second offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; and driving with an invalid drivers license.

In other recent court filings, Angela Kay Dillard Mitchell, 4616 U.S. Highway 371, Rosston, has been charged for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. Dillard was stopped by Prescott officers after they discovered that she had improper tags on her vehicle. Mitchell was arrested on July 5 and official charges were filed on July 11. According to the filing, Mitchell is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended or revoked license and improper use of registration.

Other charges filed include:

* Clint Andrew Jones, 4275 State Highway 376 South, Prescott; charged with possession of a fire arm by certain persons and driving with a suspended license; offense date June 28.

* Marcello Antwan Fry, 23, 519 Warren St., Prescott, chared with theft of property valued at $500-$2,500; offense listed as June 15.

* Calvin James Flemons, 52, 1000 Section Line, Prescott, was charged with theft of property valued at $500-$2,500; offense date June 15.

* Edward L. Johnson, 65, 1016 Moncrief St., Prescott, was charged with theft by receiving of property valued at $500-$2,500; offense date June 13.

* Michael S. Thompson, 29, 506 Hempstead 12, Hope, was charged with possession of a firearm by certain persons and criminal trespass; offense date July 3.

* Anthony Scott Lambert, 35, 109 South Elm, Emmet, was charged with aggravated assault and criminal trespass; offense date July 3.

* Edward Lee Jackson, 1113 B St., Prescott, was charged with possession of firearms by a certain person and theft by receiving; offense date July1.

Charges have also been filed for persons accused of violation of the Arkansas Hot Check Law with amounts listed as $200 to $2,500.

* Jerroll Wayne Taylor Jr., 244 CR 203, Prescott; offense date Nov. 5.

* Bonita Conner, 37, 13B Yerger Terrace, Hope, or 206 North First St., Gurdon; offense dates from April to June.
