Charlene Diggs

Charlene Diggs, 79, of Gurdon, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at

Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. She was born May 6, 1927, in Curtis, the daughter of the late James Richard and Laura Belle Legate Curtis. She was a greeter at Wal-Mart for many years and a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee and Luther Curtis, and two sisters, Alice Francis and Ida Belle McLendon.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Pierce of Arkadelphia and Shirley Williams of Gurdon; three grandchildren, Keith Perkins and his wife Rachel, Alicia Benson and her husband Daniel, and Cynamon Pierce; great-grandchildren, Alex and Mika Perkins.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Newsom officiating. Interment was in Southfork Cemetery near Gudon.

Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 2502 Walnut,

Arkadelphia, Ark. 71923.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, July 7, at the

funeral home.
