Chamber displays two sets of Christmas ornamentsBy John NelsonPublished Wednesday, June 28, 2006 in the Gurdon Times The 2006 Gurdon Chamber of Commerce commemorative ornaments, celebrating the 120th year of the Presbyterian Church, are in and for sale at both banks and at the chamber office. Autumn Pennington, chamber member and US Bank employee, said there are 150 green ornaments for sale at the Cabe Land Company/chamber office, First State Bank and the US Bank. This is the fourth year for the chamber to have commemorative Christmas ornaments and Pennington said ornaments from previous years are also for sale on a limited basis at the Cabe office. "They church ornaments also have the 23rd Psalm on the back," she said. "The chamber will get the profits and we are asking $10 an ornament again this year." Pennington said the 150 special coaster ornaments for this falls Hoo Hoo convention in Hot Springs have also arrived. She said the coasters will go on sale to the public after the Hoo Hoo officials make a trip to Gurdon following their convention and have first chance to buy them. "The Hoo Hoo folks are coming down here to check them out and to be with us in Gurdon," she said.
