Travis Watson

Mr. Travis Watson, 56, of Emmet, died Saturday, June 24, 2006, in Christus St. Michael Health System of Texarkana, Texas.

He was born in Hope, on September 12, 1949, to John M. Watson and Vinnie Gaines Watson. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and retired from Calmaine Foods and a rancher. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Emmet; a former bullrider; a member of the International Rodeo Association; member of the Cowboys for Christ; an outdoorsman; avia horseman; and loved any and all kinds of animals. He was preceded in death by his parents.

His survivors include his wife of almost 28 years, Brenda Sanders Watson of Emmet; one son, C.J. Watson and Cheryl of McNeil; one brother, Joe Watson of Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters, Marlene Minihan of Houston, Texas and Linda Sue Campbell of Blevins; one granddaughter, Kara Justine Watson of McNeil; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope, with Rev. Oliver McKamie officiating. Burial was in Watson Cemetery of Ozan. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.

Family received friends Monday, June 26, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzle/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
