Patsy SimmsPublished Wednesday, June 21, 2006 in the Nevada County PicayunePatsy Ann Granny Simms, 69, of Mena, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006 in Mena at the Mena Medical Center. She was born July 16, 1936 in Moberly, Missouri, to the late William Curtis Kendrick and Ella Ardena Palmer Kendrick. She was an office manager for Dons E-Z Pay by profession. She was also a lifetime member of the Polk County Fair Association and had been widely involved in various community services. She had also been honored as the Polk County Citizen of the Year in previous years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Survivors include sons, Rickey Goss and wife Rhonda of Mena, David Goss and wife Susan of Mineral Springs, and Darrell Goss and wife Karen of Mena; step-son, Billy Hull and wife Christy of Mena; daughters, Linda Weathersby of Stephens, Phyllis Scott and husband Williams and Patti Boykin, all of Mena; brother, William Curtis Kendrick, Jr. of Boerne, Texas; previous husband, Mack Simms; grandchildren, Misty Burnside of Stephens, Amanda Collier of Prescott, Robert Goss of Texarkana, Texas, Kimella Wagstaff of Hooks, Texas, Tera Lott, Valerie Spenser, Lucas Scott, Chas Scott and Colton Boykin, all of Mena, and Megan Goss and Chad Goss, both of Arkadelphia and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert Luther Goss; a sister, Norma Lou Swetnam; two brothers, Donald Kendrick and Charles Shackel Kendrick; a great granddaughter, Abbi Daniele Lott and a special friend, Charles Dee Hull. Funeral services were held Monday, May 15, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donnie Jewell officiating. Interment followed at Concord Cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena. Pallbearers were John Harrison, Jackie Ryan, Bobby Daniels, Guy Taranto, Jimmie Jewell and Gale Weatherford.
