Published Wednesday, March 17, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayunePRESCOTT 71 MENA 48 Getting to the finals of the district tourney is nothing new for the Wolverettes. But, then again, neither is winning it. Mena was victimized a third time, 71-48, as the Wolverettes took their fourth straight district title. The Wolverettes opened the game with a 20-10 first quarter lead, extending this to 37-20 at intermission. Period three was no different as Prescott led 60-30 when it ended. Cossey netted a trio of threes to lead the team with 24. Stockton sent 18 through the nets, with Graham adding 11 and Hodges scoring 10. Prescott was 11 of 18 at the line.
