Second Trade Days ready to goBy Wendy LedbetterPublished Wednesday, June 7, 2006 in the Nevada County Picayune The second Trade Days of this summer is set for June 10 and local businesses and organizations are working to keep this event going. Donnie Crain, executive director of the Prescott-Nevada County Economic Development Council, said several vendors have committed to participate and that the Friends of the Library for the Prescott-Nevada County Library has scheduled a book sale for that date. The book sale will begin at 8 a.m. and is slated to last until 10 a.m. at the old library building, according to librarian Joyce Gibson. Gibson said the books are not priced individually and the goal is to move as many books as possible. Bring bags and load up as many books as you want, Gibson said. Just give us some money and take away those books. She said the old library building has some leaks and that the hope is that the majority of the books stored there can be moved out during the event. Gibson said there are books of all genres, ranging from mysteries to childrens books. Cookbooks, paperbacks and other books will be available. There will also be some books that are free. Crain said that, like the first Trade Days held in May, this months event will include some specials by area merchants and space for garage sales will be available on the grassy area near Sextons. As before, the space is free, though you may register to reserve a space for your garage sale items. For more information about Trade Days, contact Crain at 887-6208.
