Bobby Hicks

Mr. Bobby Ray Hicks, 68, of the Caney Community of Prescott, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at his home.

He was born on May 22, 1938, in Nevada County, to Monroe Herman and Effie Ellen Green Hicks. He was a cattle and poultry farmer. He was a member of Morris Baptist Church of Caney; member of the Arkansas National Guard; member of the Farm Bureau Board; member of Nevada County Cattlemans; and member of the Governors Detention Jail Review Board.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, Larry, and Hilton Hicks.

His survivors include his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Wood Hicks of Caney Community; two sons, Dennis Hicks and Christ Hicks, both of Caney Community; two brothers, Adron Dobber Hicks of Waterloo and Rev. Raymond Hicks of Caney Community; four sisters, Nellie Callicott of McCaskill, Inez Callicott of Caney Community, Elsie Pickey Kale of Caney Community, and Bonnie Haynes of Prescott; two grandson, Lane Mayo and Caney Hicks, both of Caney Community; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and a county full of loving friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2006, at Morris Baptist Church in Caney Community with Revs. Sam Tamburo and Raymond Hicks officiating. Burial followed in Caney Cemetery in Caney. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Family received friends Friday, May 26,2006, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
