Senior Lady Go-Devils track team completes seasonBy John NelsonPublished Wednesday, May 17, 2006 in the Gurdon Times There were four girls participating in Senior Lady Go-Devil track this spring, with Ashley Berry taking a first place in shot put in all six events. Ashley Berry, against Prescott, got a first in shot put with 35 4" and took third place in disc with 86 feet. Then against Genoa, Berry took first place in shot put with 38 5.5" and fourth place in disc with 86'1". Following Berry to the Gurdon Invitational, she once again took first place in shot put with 39'2" and third place in disc with 93 .5". At Centerpoint, Berry got first place in shot put and second in disc. At the Jessieville event, Berry got first place in shot wtih 37'4" and first place in disc with 101'11". At Magnet Cove, the last track event for the year, Berry had a first place in shot put with 34'6" and first place in disc with 101 feet. Tori Morehead, in the Prescott event, took seventh place in the 1,600 meter relay with a time of 6.24; 1,600 meter relay, eighth place, 4.47. At Genoa, Morehead got sixth place on the 1,600 meter relay with a time of 6.22. At the Gurdon Invitational, Morehead came in second on the 3,200 meter relay with 14:14 and second on the 1,600 meter relay with 6.25. At Centerpoint, Morehead came in sixth on the 800 meter relay, and third on the 1,600 meter relay. At Jessieville, she came in third at the 800 meter relay with a time of 2:49, and ninth on the 1,600 meter relay with a time of 6.25. Morehead finished the season at Magnet Cove with a third on the 1,600 meter relay and 6.07 as a time, and second on the 800 meter relay with 2.45 as the time. Nicole Williams, at Prescott, competed in the 1,600 meter relay, game in eighth and had a time of 4:47; took ninth in the 100 meter with a 13.6 time and in the 400 meter took 10th with a time of 1:10. Williams at Genoa took sixth in the 400 meter with a 1:11 time; and was 13th in the 100 meter with a 14.52. In the Gurdon Invitational, Williams placed sixth in the 200 meter with a 30.96 time; fourth in the 100 meter with a 13.71 time and sixth in the 400 meter with a 1.22 time. At Centerpoint, Williams placed first in the 400 meter and second in the 100 meter. At Jessieville, she was seventh in the 100 meter with a 14.1 time; sixth at 400 meter with a 1.08; and 11th in the 200 meter with 29.72 for the time. In Magnet Cove, Williams placed second for the 100 meter with a time of 13.2; seventh in the 400 meter with a time of 1:07; and 8th for the 200 meter with a time of 30.1. Latasha Pollins came in eighth place in the shot put during the Gurdon Invitational with 26'4.5". Pollins got seventh in shot put at Centerpoint. She got fourth in shot put with 26'7" at Magnet Cove.
