Kenneth CofieldPublished Wednesday, May 3, 2006 in the Nevada County PicayuneKenneth Cofield, formerly of Hope, died April 2, in Lancaster, Texas. He was born to Harmon and Ruth Monts Cofield January 11, 1927, grew up in the Forrest Hill Community in Nevada County, and attended school at Laneburg Cental School. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in hope and a WWII veteran, having served with the Occupation Forces in Japan. He retired from Safeway Stores in 1987. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marian Sue Mitchell Cofield of New Boston; three children and their spouses, Randy and Nancy Cofield, Lindsey and Sharon Cofield, and Holly and Trey Dyer; grandchildren, Lynn and Steve Oglesby, Beth and Jim Sidwell, Justin and Jana Cofield, Josh and Shalyn Cofield, Jake and Amanda Cofield, Zach and Hunter Dyer; and three great-grandchildren. A graveside memorial service led by Lindsey was held April 4 at the Rosston Cemetery. Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church in Hope.
