Board selects principalBy WENDY LEDBETTERPublished Wednesday, April 26, 2006 in the Nevada County Picayune Jeff Fairris has been hired to be the new Prescott High School principal. The move was made during a special school board meeting dedicated to personnel matters on April 4. According to minutes of that meeting, all five board members and Prescott Superintendent Hyacinth Deon were present for the meeting. Minutes indicate that Deon recommended Fairris for employment as principal for the 1006-7 school year. Board member Shane Meador made the motion to accept Deons recommendation and Tom Cornelius seconded the motion. All members voted to approve Fairris as principal. In other business, the board accepted resignations of McRae Middle School special education teacher Sandra Brown and Brenda Rayborn of the food service department.
