Clark County Judge Ron Daniell said fuel prices are hitting the countys budget, including the spring road projects. There are plans to do some work in various parts of the county, including some in the Gurdon area and farther south, Daniell said.

One of those projects is Kansas Road. Daniell said the plan is to use state aid money for that project, meaning the road will get a new coat of asphalt. But some other projects that Daniell had hoped to see paved this year will be downgraded.

He said Taylor Dairy Loop will likely get some attention, but wont get asphalt. Instead, he expects to use oil and pea gravel for surfacing that road.

We expect to do oil and pea on most because of the price of asphalting, Daniell said.

There are some smaller projects planned around the county, though Daniell said the number completed will depend largely on the stability of fuel, asphalt and oil prices.

Were going to try to do our best as long as the money holds up, he said.

Meanwhile, Daniell said county crews are doing some gravel work in the Vaden area.
