Pete DeWoody first set up an insurance office in Prescott more than 25 years ago. Some would say thats quite an accomplishment, but DeWoody said his success can be directly linked to the people of Prescott and the surrounding areas. With that in mind, the agency is planning a customer appreciation event slated for Wednesday, April 19, from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

The focus is on the community, DeWoody said. We want to put our emphasis on our appreciation of them.

DeWoody, along with his wife, Meredith, and office manager Teri Hughes, offer a full range of insurance options. DeWoody said the industry has seen some serious changes over the years. There was a time when DeWoody offered insurance quotes from a series of manuals. Today, that task is accomplished online.

DeWoody spent a year in Iraq after he was called to active duty. Meredith said it was a statement of the commitment of the community that the business went on uninterrupted.

Teri and I and the people of Prescott kept the business going, Meredith said.

Though DeWoody needed little reminding, he said the time in Iraq made him completely aware of what a great place Prescott is.

The communitys been good to us, DeWoody said. Were ready to do another 25.
