After more than a year, there is a new Family and Consumer Science Agent with the Nevada County Extension Service.

Amanda Rogers joined Rex Dollar and Dianne Wolfe on March 15. Rogers hails from Arkadelphia, having graduated from Henderson State University in May 2005. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services.

She enjoys camping, fishing and shopping, along with reading when time permits.

Rogers and her husband, Waylon, have no children. He owns and operates a construction business in Arkadelphia. They attend Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

I saw the job on the state web site, she said. I was in 4-H when I was younger and got to know agents in other counties. I was shocked when I was hired.

I like it here, she continued. The people have all been nice and welcoming. Im glad to be here.

Rogers has been traveling around Prescott to get her bearings and meet people. She hasnt been out in the county much, but this will change.

Rex and Dianne are wonderful people, she said. Theyve been good about showing me the ropes. Im willing to work hard and be a team player.

Rogers welcomes suggestions concerning her job and how area residents would like to see the EHC and 4-H go.
