Peter Cottontail will make his appearance at the 12th Annual Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt.

This years hunt will be held Saturday, April 15, at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. A total of 2,200 eggs will be hidden on Bemis Field, unless it rains. In the event of bad weather, the egg hunt will be held in the Potlatch Building.

There will be four age divisions hunting for the eggs, all of which will contain candy or prizes. The first division, for one and two year olds, runs from 10-10:30 a.m. The three and four year olds hit the field from 10:30-11, with those children 5-7 taking over from 11-11:30. The final group, for eight and nine year olds will be from 11:30 until noon.

A Golden Egg will be hidden for each category. The child who finds it will receive a stuffed Easter Bunny.

There is no admission to this event. Children can have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny for $2 each. Face painting will be available for $1 each.

The Artesian Arts League is sponsoring a balloonist for the event. He will be tying balloons in the shape of assorted animals.

Mary Godwin, executive director of the Chamber, said children need to bring an Easter basket with them, and each child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

There will also be different games for the children. The games include: ring toss, duck pond, balloons, ping-pong ball toss, rabbit races, and crafts.

This event is sponsored by the Chamber. For more information call 887-2101.
