Rev. Frankie Burke

Rev. Frankie Joe Burke, 67, of Hope, died Monday, February 27, 2006, at his home.

He was born on November 23, 1938, in Hempstead County, to William U. Bill an Nola E. Robinson Burke. He was a Baptist Minister. He graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, with BA and his Masters Degrees. He was a member of Bodcaw Baptist Church and an Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Wayne and Jim Burke and by one sister, Mattie Lou Hart.

His survivors include his wife of 46 years, Patty Maxwell Burke of Hope; one son, Rev. Don Burke and Pam of Potosi, Mo.; two daughters, Denise Jackson of Livingston, Texas, and Jan Whatley and Stan of Hope; one brother, Billy J. Burke and Shirley of Hope; one sister, Alice Garrett and Charles of Texarkana, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Mark Burke of Russellville, Becca Burke of Potosi, Mo., Jessica Jackson and Erica Jackson both of Livingston, Texas, Samuel Jackson of Magnolia, Ben Whatley and Steven of Whatley, both of Hope.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope, with Rev. Jerry Evans and Rev. Jim Sayers officiating. Burial followed in Union Grove Cemetery in Blevins.

Family received friends Wednesday, March 1, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
