George Odom

George Edward Odom, 70, of Prescott, died Wednesday, February 15, 2006, at Christus St. Michael Health System.

He was born August 23, 1935, at Heflin, La. He was a Baptist and attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Boughton. He was a veteran of the Army. He was the former director with the Prescott Parks and Recreation and teacher of Prescott High School.

He was preceded in death by his father, Crichton Odom; mother Georgia Robertson Odom; and wife, Dorothy Jones Odom.

His survivors include: two sons, Mario Odom of Osawatomie, Kan. and Corwin Odom of Springfield, Mo.; two daughters, Charra G. Odom of Hope and Chandra Compton of Douglasville, Ga.; one sister, Annie Mae Odom-Knowles of Baytown, Texas; and six grandchildren.

Visitation was at Brown Funeral Home in Pine Bluff, Monday, February 20, 2006.

Services were at Prescott High School Auditorium, Tuesday, February 21, 2006, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Ivory Curry officiating.
