Estelle CaldwellPublished Wednesday, February 15, 2006 in the Nevada County PicayuneMiss Estelle Caldwell, 91, of Hope, died Monday, February 6, 2006, at Woodland Hills in Little Rock. She was born on February 19, 1914, in Columbus, to Robert and Mary Jane Dyer Caldwell. She was a teacher who taught in Hope Public Schools from 1953 until she retired in 1976. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hope and was a member of the Radiant Sunday School Class where she was active until illness made it necessary for her to move to Little Rock in 2003. Aunt Stell, as she was fondly called by her family, enjoyed doing and caring for others. We all know how blessed we were to have had her love and influence in our lives. She was preceded in death by her parents, by four brothers, Joe, Delbert,Mark and Andy Caldwell and by one sister, Virgie Tubbs. Her survivors include: one brother, Dale Caldwell and Becky of Douglass, Texas; five nephews, Robert L. Tubbs and Zerita of Dallas, Texas, Wayne Caldwell and Victoria of Houston, Texas, Jack Caldwell and Mary Beth of Little Rock, Kevin Caldwell and Kathy of Raytown, Mo., and Roger Caldwell and Judy of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two nieces, Cora Mae Stavinoha and Gilbert of Bangs, Texas, and Margaret Timme and Steve of Friendswood, Texas; 20 great-nieces, nephews, and seven great-great-nieces and nephews. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2006, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hope, with Rev. Earl Cumbie officiating. Burial followed. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Family received friends, Wednesday, February 8, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. The family would like to thank Dr. Jerry Carter and the staff at Woodland Hills for the love and care given to her during her stay.
