Doyle Blocker Sr.

Doyle Alvin Blocker, Sr., 61, of Blytheville, died February 6, 2006, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., from Agent Orange  lung cancer.

He was born May 5, 1944, in Gurdon. His was a truck driver and in the Army. He was a member of Gospel Lighthouse in Blytheville, a member of the Kingsmen Group.

Survivors include: his wife, Kelly Bandy Blocker of Blytheville; mother, Gladdis Pugh of El Dorado; two daughters, Sondra Abney of Delight and Sheryl Martin of Hope; four sons, Steve Nichols and Scott Reeves of Blytheville, Doyle Blocker, Jr. Buddy of Prescott, and Rodney Blocker of Levelland, Texas; four sisters, Carol Filmore and Betty Harvard of El Dorado, Julie Rogers of Stamps and Jane Cummings of Prescott; five brothers, Michael Blocker of Florida, Jerry Blocker of Texarkana, Ark., Randy Blocker of Washington, D.C., Larry Blocker of Horn Lake, Miss., and David Blocker of Benton; four grandchildren, Cody Reeves of Blytheville, Colton Abney of Delight, Drake Martin of Hope and Heather Martin of Paris, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Blocker.

Funeral services were Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at 1 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville with Bro. David Craig and Bro. Dave Stout officiating. Burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Pallbearers were family and friends. Visitation was Tuesday, February 7, 2006, from 5-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville.

Wilson Funeral Home of Blytheville was in charge of arrangements.
