Roy HodgesPublished Wednesday, February 8, 2006 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. Roy Don Hodges, 53, of Laneburg, died Monday, January 30, 2006, in Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas. He was born on January 6, 1953, in Portales, New Mexico, to Jack W. and Estella Gray Hodges. He was maintenance supervisor with Prescott Schools and retired assistant supervisor of utilities for the University of Texas for more than 23 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a former Little League, Dixie League, and Babe Ruth League Baseball Coach for Prescott Summer Leagues. He was preceded in death by twin boys. His survivors include: his wife, Kathy Hodges of Laneburg; three sons, Rodney Hodges of Dallas, Texas, Matthew Hodges and Joel Hodges both of Laneburg; his parents, Jack W. and Estella Gray Hodges of Andrews, Texas; one brother, Steve Hodges of McKinney, Texas; two sisters, Jackie Thatcher and Jo Nita Syler both of Andrews, Texas. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006, at Central Baptist Church in Prescott, with Rev. Perry Johnson officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Rosston. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. Family received friends Wednesday, February 1, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
