In spite of the deluge the area received during the weekend, little damage was done.

According to John W. Teeter, local meteorologist, 5.03 inches of rain fell overnight Friday, with the weekend total being 6.18 inches.

Nevada County Judge James Roy Brown said the bus drivers for the Nevada School District were contacted, and said their routes were undamaged for the most part.

Brown said the areas which normally flood got flooded, but were drained away by Monday morning.

One bridge had an end washed out, and it was being repaired by the Nevada County Road Department, Brown said.

He added the Little Missouri River crested at 20.7 feet above flood stage and has been going down steadily since the rain stopped.

Davis Benton, Cale's weatherman, said for the 24-hour period of Friday and Saturday, the southern part of Nevada County received 4.77 inches of rain.

There was no high winds or hail associated with the storm system, Benton said.
