Tri-Service Club Event Set For This WeekendBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, March 17, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune This weekend the Tri-Service Club will be collecting unwanted but useable items to raise money. The funds raised by the club will be used to help purchase new curtains for the stage at Prescott Middle School and buy new playground equipment at Prescott Elementary School. Donations should be brought to the Prescott National Guard Armory, on West Gee Street, behind the DeAnn Cemetery. Items being sought are those normally found in yard and garage sales. Men's women's and children's clothing, shoes, books, toys, games, small household items and small appliances. Members of the club ask no large pieces of furniture or major appliances, such as couches or refrigerators, be brought to the site. Nothing is being sold to the public by students. The items gathered will be sold to the ARC in Little Rock. Donations can be dropped off at the armory Thursday and Friday from noon until 6 p.m. Saturday, March 20, donations may be made from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |

Articles dated December 1981 through May 2001 were contributed by Ragsdale Printing Company, Inc. Articles June 2001 to ? were contributed by Better Built Group, Inc. Articles ? to October 2008 were contributed by GateHouse Media. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
