Carrie Smith

Mrs. Carrie Lucille Nivens Smith, 92, of Prescott, died Monday, January 23, 2006, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

She was born on March 18, 1913, in Hempstead County to John Gabriel and Carrie Mae Lloyd Nivens. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Church of Christ in Prescott.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence Jefferson Smith; by one son, Clarence Lyndell Smith, and by eight brothers and sisters.

Her survivors include: one son, Larry Gene Smith, Sr. of Hot Springs; one daughter, Joan Carole Stuard and Allan of Prescott; one sister-in-law, Leota Holland Nivens of Arkadelphia; five grandchildren, Carrie Holborn and Ira of Melburne, Carla Smith and B.T. of Glenwood, Sonnet Kopecky Booth and Rob of Kyle, Texas, and Daniel Stuard and Kathrin of Augusta, Ga.; seven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with Mr. Harley Sisson and Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Family received friends Tuesday, January 24, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
