Stanly Collins

Stanly S.J. Collins, of Midland, Texas passed away Saturday, December 31, 2005.

He was born March 16, 1931, to John Collins and Ella Simpson Collins in Prescott and was raised and educated there. Stanly served in the U.S. Navy from June, 1948 until February 1950. In 1951, he married Joy Rogers in Hope. The couple moved to Midland in the early 1950's. A long time boiler maker, Stanly worked with various oilfield companies before retiring in the early 1990's. He was a member of Tall City Baptist Church, the Scottish Rite Association, and he was a 32 degree Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and four brothers.

Stanly is survived by daughters, Sandra Tidwell of Midland, Texas, Carolyn Coquat of Aransas Pass, Texas, and Lisa Valencia of Midland; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Arrangements were under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Hwy. Midland, Texas 79701, 432-683-5555.
