Fern WilsonPublished Wednesday, December 28, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneFern M. Wilson, 83, of Emmet, formerly of Poplar Bluff, died December 20, 2005, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope. Mrs. Wilson, the daughter of the late S. W. and Leva (Blanton) Minton, was born November 1, 1922, in Poplar Bluff. A caretaker and homemaker, she was a member of the Laneburg United Pentecostal Church in Laneburg. She enjoyed visiting her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On June 1, 1938, she was married to Frank W. Wilson in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1959. Surviving are three children, Freda Wesson and husband, Douglas of Prescott, Leon Wilson and wife Ramona of Poplar Bluff, and Patsy Wesson and husband, Wilburn of Emmet; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lewis Minton of Poplar Bluff. A son, Eldon Ray Wilson, also preceded her in death on February 24, 1959, as well as two sisters, Gladys Coble and Cloya Diamond, and two brothers, Leonard Minton and Dewey Minton. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Wilburn Wesson officiating.
