Maudie VolentinePublished Wednesday, November 23, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Maudie Idell Bennett Volentine, 79, of Hope, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, in Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas. She was born Dec. 18, 1925, in Nevada County, to Joseph and Mattie Purtle Bennett. She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Washington Baptist Church, Washington, Ark. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Carlon J. Volentine, of Hope; two sons, Ronnie Volentine of Emmet and Larry Volentine, and Lisa, of North Little Rock; one daughter, Nancy Grimmett, and David, of Richmond, Texas; three grandchildren, David Grimmett III, of Richmond, Kimberly Krant of Round Rock, Texas, and Macy Volentine of Little Rock; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Oxford of Goshen and Sarah Dunnavant or North Little Rock; and two great-great-grandchildren, Cole Krant and Kaytlin Krant of Round Rock. Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Dale officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hope, under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
