Mary LawsonPublished Wednesday, November 23, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Mary McClellan Lawson, 84, of Prescott, died Sunday, November 13, at Prescott Manor Nursing Center in Prescott. She was born on December 25 1921, in Whelen Springs to John Thomas and Nannie Traylor McClellan. She was a homemaker. She was a member and Sunday School Treasurer o f Church of God in Christ in Blevins; member of Sunshine Band and the Eastern Star. Her light of service shined bright until her death. She was preceded by one daughter, Dorothy Mae Brown; seven brothers, Morlen, Orlen, J.W., J.H., Willis, Alonza, and Robert; four sisters, Corrine, Exie, Bell, and Doris. When death of our loved one claims, Jesus knows our sorrow and He will ease our pain. His survivors include: her husband of 64 years, Luther Lawson of Prescott; five sons, Carl Edward Lawson and Ann of Sacramento, Calif., Charles Henry Lawson and CharGloria of Prescott, James Arthur Lawson of Amarillo, Texas, Billy Ray Lawson and Karen of Cobb, Calif., and Michael Lavon Lawson of Hope; two daughters, Crystal Faye Lawson and Rose Mary Dickerson both of Prescott; 27 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, relatives and friends. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2005, at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church in Emmet, with Rev. Henry Morgan and Rev. Tony Law officiating. Burial followed at Snell Cemetery in Emmet. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
